Biography
Clarita is a social consultant with specialization in human rights, transitional justice, conflict prevention, politics and diplomacy. She has a particular interest in conducting social risk assessments to inform the clients and local communities, as a way to de-escalate or avoid tensions in a given region.
Consulting Experience
Environmental and Social Impact and Risk Assessment
Clarita is supporting multiple environmental and social impact studies, including a de-risking exercise and an environmental assessment in Brazil, and a worldwide human rights assessment for a global oil and gas company.
Prior Experience
During her career, Clarita worked with different international organizations, including the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva (Switzerland) and the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva (Switzerland). She further conducted human rights-based academic research at the Centre for Human Rights of the University of Pretoria (South Africa). She also possesses strong diplomatic skills, which she mainly acquired during her work with the Permanent Mission of the Republic of El Salvador to the United Nations Office in Geneva.
Throughout her experience, Clarita has designed and implemented human rights projects, organized capacity-building workshops, implemented and oversaw peace projects in the Middle East, monitored specific country situations and developed policies and procedures. She also has experience in diplomatic marketing, data collecting and project management.
