Biography

Chris has a diverse background spanning 20+ years of environmental and social consulting and construction. He served as a member or leader of teams dedicated help align project goals with the constraints of complex operating environments. Chris recently joined Acorn International. For the prior 10 years, he served in various environmental and social capacities and ultimately as the Non-Technical Risk Advisor for the Anadarko (now TotalEnergies) Mozambique LNG Development Project before it was indefinitely suspended due to terrorist attacks. Reporting to several functional groups and collaborating with numerous disciplines has given him a detailed understanding of multiple subject areas; this diverse experience allows him to fill multiple roles at various stages in a project’s development.

His strengths lie in working with multidisciplinary teams to develop a holistic view of a project and his background in non-technical risk integrates aspects of engineering and construction with the environmental and social constraints to develop realistic and implementable solutions. This approach helps to align diverse groups towards common goals and provides an early indication of risks to inform mitigation strategies. Early identification of these aspects can reduce risk exposure, insulate a project from liability, protect corporate reputation and ultimately achieve sustainable solutions to many of the challenges faced through the project lifecycle.

Chris offers expertise in impact assessment, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and his experiences range from preliminary field assessments to corporate policy development. He has extensive practical experience in challenging and remote locations and within culturally diverse communities.
