Guyana Development ESIA Uaru

Acorn International developed an Environmental Impact Assessment for the Uaru Development Project.

This is will be EEPGL’s fifth Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) Project in Guyana. The EIA evaluated potential impacts and risks associated with drilling, operational and decommissioning phases of the Project. This evaluation included modeling conducted to assess the potential risks associated with air emissions, discharges, and noise generation through all phases of the Project lifecycle as well as oil spill modeling to assess the potential risk from various unplanned event scenarios. These activities from a basis to support ExxonMobil’s planning and decision-making by the Guyana regulators. Stakeholder engagement was a key focus of this Project; several sessions were held with the community to understand their concerns related to the Project and to inform them about the EIA Process and the regulatory requirements of Guyana.
