Acorn International Forms Integrated Team for Mexico’s Deep Water Blocks (dup)
Acorn International has seen a booming increase in demand for its services from the global renewables industry over the past 6-12 months. Our President, Dean Slocum, attributes this growth to 3 intersecting trends:
- Exploding growth in development of renewable energy production assets worldwide, especially wind and solar,
- Increasing recognition by industry and investors of the importance of world-class social and environmental performance in making developments bankable and feasible, and
- Continuing success and recognition of the solutions that Acorn International has been providing for players in the renewable market worldwide
Recent assignments have included:
- Solar
- Environmental and Social Due Diligence for solar farm developments in Mexico and Honduras
- Indigenous and human rights, land use and labor rights remediation in Mexico
- Resettlement/livelihood restoration, tribal consultation and community affairs team development in Nigeria
- Wind

Meanwhile, we are increasing our participation in industry-wide learning and outreach. For example:
- Grace Russell recently posted an article summarizing her research on biofouling of marine renewable energy structures (see summary here)
- We participated in the annual American Wind Energy Association conference in Houston earlier this month https://www.awea.org/
- We will also participate in the upcoming US Offshore Wind conference in Boston in June https://events.newenergyupdate.com/offshore-wind/
See our Renewables Brochure here for more information, and let us know how we can help make your investment in renewable energy solutions a success. We look forward to working with you.
